What's Included

The Process

1

Paint Inspection

Andrez inspects the entire vehicle under direct lighting to map out swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and any deeper damage. A paint depth gauge confirms how much clear coat is available to work with safely.

2

Wash and Decontamination

The vehicle gets a full contact wash followed by iron remover and a clay bar treatment. No correction work starts until the paint surface is completely clean — grinding polishing compound into a dirty panel makes damage worse.

3

Test Spot

Before going panel-wide, a small test area is corrected first to confirm the right pad and compound combination for your specific paint. This prevents over-correction and protects your clear coat.

4

Machine Correction

Using a dual-action or rotary polisher — selected based on defect severity — each panel is worked in overlapping passes to level the clear coat and remove swirls, haze, and scratches. Heavier defects may require multiple stages with different compound and pad combinations.

5

Finishing Pass

Once correction is complete, a finishing polish is applied to refine the surface and bring out maximum gloss and depth before any sealant or coating is applied.

6

Final Inspection

Every panel is wiped down with an IPA solution to strip away polish oils, then inspected under high-intensity lighting from multiple angles. Any remaining defects are addressed before the job is called done.

Is This Right For You?

Paint correction is the right call if your truck, SUV, or sedan has dull paint, heavy swirl marks from automatic car washes, or scratches you can feel with your fingernail that haven't broken through to the base coat. It's also the required first step before any ceramic coating — applying a coating over uncorrected paint just locks the defects in permanently.

Common Questions About Paint Correction

A one-stage correction uses a single compound and polish combination to remove light swirl marks and surface haze — it's faster and works well on paint in decent condition. A two-stage goes deeper, using a heavier cut compound first to address scratches and heavier defects, then a finishing polish to refine the surface. Andrez will recommend the right approach after inspecting your paint in person.
Paint correction removes defects that live within the clear coat layer — swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation. If a scratch has gone through the clear coat and into the base coat or primer, that requires touch-up paint, not polishing. During the inspection, Andrez will tell you exactly what can and can't be corrected.
A single-stage correction on a sedan typically takes 4 to 6 hours. A full two-stage correction on a full-size truck or SUV can take 8 hours or more depending on paint condition and panel count. Every job is different — the quote will include a time estimate based on your specific vehicle.
You don't have to, but it's strongly recommended. Corrected paint is unprotected paint — without a sealant or coating applied afterward, environmental fallout, UV rays, and car washes will start putting the defects back. A ceramic coating locks in the correction and protects the surface long-term.
CleanScrubs comes to you — a concrete driveway works fine for most stages of the process. Direct sunlight is the main challenge during correction work, so early morning appointments or shaded areas are ideal when possible. Andrez will work with you on timing and setup to get the best results at your location.
